Axis Bank is authorised for collection of Central Excise Duties and Service Tax on behalf of the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) w.e.f 15 November, 2003. Axis Bank is presently authorised to collect indirect tax payment, i.e. Central Excise and Service Tax in 20 commissionerates of the 4 CBEC Zones - Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad through its 56 authorised Branches.
The tax payers in the above 4 CBEC Zones can make their indirect tax payment, i.e. Central Excise and Service Tax at any of Axis Bank's authorised Branches in the Zone irrespective of the commissionerate in which they are registered.
As per the indirect tax payment process in India, the tax payers can pay their Central Excise and Service Tax either by physical mode or the online mode through 'e-Payment’ facility, in case they are Axis Bank accountholders.
