It is a self-service facility for you to generate your ATM PIN through ATMs / Internet Banking/ IVR Channel at your own convenience
Traditionally, Cards store and transact data using a magnetic stripe only, which is located at the rear side of your Card.
A CHIP and PIN enabled Credit Card, is a more evolved version, and is additionally equipped with an embedded CHIP that is capable of storing and transacting data in an encrypted format. CHIP protects the Card against security threats such as Skimming or Counterfeiting, thereby offering the highest level of security for your Card.
Domestic & international purchase transactions made at retail outlets using the Card, also known as Point of Sale (POS) transactions, are usually validated solely by signing on the charge slip. However, the PIN feature on this Card enables customers to additionally validate /authorize all purchase transactions at merchant outlets by entering the Card’s PIN as well, making them more secure.
Just like a magnetic stripe Card, CHIP and PIN enabled Credit Card too can be used at the merchant’s payment terminals directly. Instead of swiping the Card, merchants will now have to “Dip” the CHIP and PIN enabled Card into a CHIP reader slot, as demonstrated in the info-graphic below. Accordingly, paying through your CHIP and PIN enabled Credit Card will now be a 3-step process.
After inserting your credit card, select the SET PIN option on the ATM screen. For first time users the ATM screen will display another screen displaying “Generate OTP” option.
Enter details Credit Card number (ATM will capture the card number once dipped), Date of Birth, Card Expiry and Registered Mobile number. OTP/ Activation passcode received on mobile number, enter the OTP/ Activation passcode as asked on the ATM screen.
Set PIN XXXX (Set a 4 digit PIN) Re-enter PIN XXXX. You will receive a confirmation slip once the PIN is generated successfully

If customer enters wrong details he will be displayed with a message as “Your transaction has been declined due to invalid credentials provided”. Customer has the option of re-entering correct details.
Yes the customer can try again; If Customer enters incorrect parameter the ATM screen will display message of “Your transaction has been declined due to invalid credentials provided”
Due to security reasons, we will not inform the customer about which parameter was incorrectly entered. Customer needs to try generating Credit Card PIN all over again
The OTP is valid for 3 hours post generations.
If customer inputs wrong OTP he will be displayed with message your transaction has been declined due to incorrect details and will allow him to input the correct OTP.
In case of an Add On Credit Card the OTP will be routed to the primary card holder's mobile number
You can register your mobile number through any Axis Bank Branch or ATM
Activation pass code will be received on customer registered mobile number on a real time basis
Activation pass code will be received on customer registered mobile number and will be valid for 3 hours or one time usage whichever is earlier

Due to security reasons, we will not inform the customer about which parameter was incorrectly entered. Customer can choose to try again entering all 4 parameters or Call again with correct credentials.
Customer is advised to reattempt the PIN generation process by generating a new activation pass code and PIN again. The pin was not set in the system.
Latest PIN will be used for POS transactions as Insta PIN will override the existing PIN available in system for the card.
